Research shows that an auto can be stolen within 20 seconds. Auto theft can occur to anybody. Vehicle thieves are all out both for new and old vehicles including the parts. Though there is no 100% auto theft proof gadget, there are preventive measures that you can learn to lessen the chances of your vehicle being stolen.
When leaving the car take the car keys with you all the time. Never leave them within the auto. Believe it or not almost 20% of cars stolen had keys left inside the vehicles. Always lock the car all the time because unlocked vehicles are usually the easy targets. When parking, it is recommended to park in a well lighted place and if possible near the stores or other business establishments. Do not park in lots that are neglected, particularly in the evening. Learn to park the car with the wheels turned sideways whether it is at the driveway, parking lot or curb. Another is to administer the emergency brake whenever you park.
