If you find someone who tells you “We buy cars and SUVs” then listen to what he has to say if you have a vehicle you want to sell. An auto firm in the business of buying and selling is a good source for making a quick sale. If your financial situation is such that you need to trade your car for cash quickly, selling in this manner may be the right solution for you. Especially if time is of the essence and you need your hands on the cash now.

So if when you ask you hear “Yes, we buy cars and SUVs”, the next step is for you to know what your car is worth. That is not to say that the buyer is going to try and take advantage of you, although no doubt there are some who would most certainly try. It’s just common sense that you would want to get a good price for anything you sell. Fortunately, it is fairly easy to look up used car values. Visit web sites like Edmunds.com or kbb.com; both are easy to navigate and offer lots of information on used car values.

If told by a firm that, “we buy cars and SUVs” you can count on the fact that you are dealing with a professional that knows what he is talking about. If you have done proper research, you will already have a good idea of what such a buyer will offer. While you will not get the price you might if you sold to a private buyer, you will likely get a fair price that puts cash in pocket fast. And if that is your ultimate goal, this is definitely the way to go.

Hearing the words “we buy cars and SUVs” may come at a perfect time. Meaning you suddenly have other financial obligations you need to meet and selling your car is the way to get the cash you need. And your car may be one that the buyer is confident he can re-sell, making him an interested buyer ready to hand over the cash. You could always hold out and attempt to sell to a private buyer; you simply have to compare the amount of time that may take with how quickly a professional buyer will take your vehicle off your hands. And you are the only one who can answer that question.

Selling your vehicle privately can seem to be a daunting task. With a few simple rules to follow, it can however, turn into a profitable experience for both you and the buyer. Always do plenty of research regarding every step of the process and keep good records of any and all paperwork and in the end you can turn your old vehicle into cash!

The first step is to know the market. Family cars like minivans or sedans are always in high demand. People are always having children and growing their families. While these cars may not be the most exciting on the market, they are very practical to a lot of people. If you are selling a convertible or sports car, try to wait and sell it during warmer months. More people will want to look at a fun, flashy car when the sun is warm and shining and they can show it off around town. Also, do some research online and get an idea for what the average going rate is for cars similar to the one you want to sell.

A couple useful tools online are Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds.com. These websites will help you to calculate what the fair market value for your vehicle is so you can price it accordingly. After researching what other people are selling similar cars for and getting a fair market value price for your vehicle, decide on a selling price. Make sure you leave some room for negotiating, buyers will inevitably try to get the best deal they can but you don’t want to end up taking a price lower than you really want. Also, price your vehicle carefully. People like the look of a nice round number, like “$8250″. If you price your vehicle at “$9347″, you could lose some potential buyers. I have to say that when I was first introduced to the Suzuki Jimny, I was curious as to where the rest of it had gone. I’m no stranger to 4x4s, but a compact model is such a rarity that it’s genuinely unusual to see one done well. And well done the Jimny is, with a rather pleasing profile and the subtle assurance of powerful performance that might well give other SUVs a challenge to live up to. Indeed the Jimny has already achieved the High Altitude World Record, so when you bring that kind of prestige down to street level who knows where you’ll find yourself?

The only disappointment in the Jimny is that it’s often touted as a car ‘for the Big City’. Unless you’re the kind of insufferable person who sits around sipping flavoured lattes whilst braying into your mobile about the latest company acquisition whilst your gleaming, barely used 4×4 sits forlornly in some parking space, the city is not the home of any SUV. Certainly it’s nice to visit, and even cars bigger than the Jimny have no problem navigating busy streets, but to get the best performance from your 4×4 vehicle you really have to remember what it was made for.
