Have you been searching for a used class C RV for sale? These “mini-motorhomes” are a great investment for the family who loves to travel. A class C RV is a smaller version and is much less expensive than many other models. It’s built on a manufactured van frame and has an attached cab.

The amenities offered in these RV’s are impressive. If you think one of these units may be out of your price range, you may need to reconsider. There’s a great source for RV’s that is often overlooked. That source is the government auction.

How Do These Auctions Work?

Federal, state, and local agencies all sell items at auction. The RV’s may have been repossessed, seized for back taxes or criminal activity, or they may be surplus units that are no longer needed. You can find a used class C RV for sale in just about any condition you can imagine. Some are like new, especially the repossessions. Others are good for salvage and the rest are in between. These RV’s are expensive to store, so the faster the sale, the better. This means a chance at grabbing one up cheap! In fact, bids open as low $100 and it’s not unheard of to get an RV for 60%-80% below retail value.

Locating the Auctions

There are websites that list these auctions, which take place across the country. You’ll really be surprised at how many there are each day. Some of the websites will even email you when a new auction is listed or if an item you are searching for is due to sell. It’s very simple to place a bid.

If you have been searching for a used class C RV for your family, check out a government auction. You’ll love how easy it is to place a bid and you just may steal a great RV for your next vacation!

You can save yourself time and literally thousands of dollars by looking over a review of sites that auction used RVs for sale and by using our online buying guide (no need to sign up) to learn how to buy used RVs.

You’ll find reviews of auction sites, FREE tips on great new features to look for, and how to get expert RV inspections, even across the country at http://BuyingUsedRVsforSale.com

Looking for a used RV for sale by owner? The classic ways to find RVs like classified ads, dealers, and Craigslist, are often not the cheapest place to find a good vehicle. There are better ways to buy an RV that will allow you the freedom to travel and the financial freedom to enjoy yourself.

Why RV’s for Sale by Owner Are Not Your Best Bet

It is important to understand why a prospective RV is for sale. Maybe the owner just needed some extra cash. However, there might be a problem that he is not telling you about. And no one wants to sink a lot of cash into repairs.

There are several other options when buying a used RV. For example, many trailers and motor homes are auctioned off after being repossessed or seized by the government. Exploring auctions could be the best alternative for buying RVs.

Why Auctions Are Better

1. Auctions can provide a wider choice than buying RVs for sale by owner at prices that will not strain your wallet. In today’s economy, repossession is forcing financial institutions to sell assets to generate cash. These companies need to unload the RVs in order to save on expensive storage costs. And guess who reaps the benefits. . . you do.

2. Since most auctions are not widely publicized, the smaller number of bidders often keeps prices low. The RVs in these auctions are not priced to make a profit but rather, to sell as fast as possible. Some of these RVs are in great shape and some are almost new. In any case, when the government auctions these vehicles, they are required to give full written disclosure of any problems.

How Do I Find These Auctions

You can join a website right now that will inform you about upcoming auctions and help explain the bidding process. These websites research and collect auction information from a wide variety of government and public sources – federal, state, and local agencies, Sheriff’s and Marshall’s Offices, foreclosure and repo sales, and more. For a small fee, you’ll get advanced notice and searchable databases for auctions close by, in your region, and around the country.

You can save yourself time and literally thousands of dollars by looking over a review of sites that offer a RVs for sale at auction and by using our online buying guide (no need to sign up) to learn how to buy used RVs.

You’ll find reviews of auction sites, FREE tips on great new features to look for, and how to get expert RV inspections, even across the country at http://BuyingUsedRVsforSale.com

This article explains 5 different ways to find RV discounts and get a great deal on the purchase. There aren’t very many websites that make finding your ideal discount on an RV very easy. Getting a good deal on an RV can be easy if you know where to look. Below we discuss five different ways to get a great discount on your next purchase from your local RV dealer.

Timing – June is usually the best time of the year to find an RV on sale at a dealership. Sometimes if the market is really slow, you can find great deals at other times of the year. But June is always a GREAT time because it is the end of the dealer’s season. At this time they are trying to sell off all of the models on their lot so they can buy the new models.

Manufacture Rebates – Always ask the salesman for rebates from the manufacturer. The dealership won’t have them all the time, but if they do they can save you anywhere from $50 to $10,000. It’s worth it to ask in case the salesman doesn’t know or just forgets to bring it up.

Seasonal – Start shopping after the RV season is long over, like after the first snow fall (if it snows in your area). The salesman usually hasn’t made a sale for a while and is willing to give deep discounts just to make a sale.

Manufactures’ Incentives For Dealers – Try shopping at the most popular dealerships. Dealers that sell a lot of motorhomes will sometimes get volume discopunts from the manufacturer. If the dealer is a few sales away from reaching his discount he may be willing to sell the RV for close to the wholesale price.

Undesirable Models or Closeouts – These designs can have unusual interior colors, front kitchens, and rear bathrooms. You may like some of these designs even though they were not quick sellers, which means you can get a great motor home and a great deal at the same time. There are also closeout models because an RV manufacturer went out of business. This can be a great deal, but just be aware that you may not be able to have a manufacturer warranty etc.

To learn how to buy an RV for less by buying an RV Repo, or an RV at Foreclosure and save tons of money please visit our site on how to get cheap RVs

For more information on RV Auctions, how RV foreclosures work and how to find them, please visit RV foreclosures!

All year round, people make the trek to northern Michigan to enjoy their dirt bikes, snowmobiles and four wheelers in a relaxing wilderness setting. Each and every weekend, you can see countless trucks and RVs towing their off road vehicles up the northbound freeways. There are a number of excellent destinations depending on the type of trip you’re looking for. No matter where you go, expect to be out in the middle of nowhere with very limited amenities. Be prepared for the adventure of a lifetime.

Right in the heart of northern Michigan, Mio is nestled in the middle of the massive Huron National Forest. The nearest major freeway is about an hour away from this quaint small town. Although accommodations in the area are somewhat limited, Mio has a number of restaurants, fueling stations, and bars to offer visitors. There’s a large chain supermarket that carries just about anything you could need. A vast network of well-groomed ATV trails encompasses the entire area. Trips of any length are easy to accommodate. Many thrill seekers will venture out into the forest and camp overnight out in the middle of nowhere. There is a wide variety of different terrain to explore and navigate. During the winter months, snowmobiles are extremely popular. Other popular activities in the area include fishing, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking. Equipment rentals are available from a number of local businesses. Check with the local visitor’s center for guidelines and restrictions regarding ATV use and camping.

If you’re looking for an extremely remote wilderness experience well off of the beaten path, Drummond Island is just the place for you. This large island is located at the easternmost tip of the Upper Peninsula. It can only be reached by a year round ferry service. Accommodations are extremely limited and camping is the best option. Public ATV trails cover the entire island. Some trails are extremely well groomed, but others are more difficult to navigate. Camping is allowed if you obtain a permit in advance. Fishing and hunting are very popular activities to enjoy while you’re there. Due to the large amount of snowfall during winter months, snowmobiles are the preferred method of transportation. It’s not uncommon for residents to get snowed in once or twice a season. Those willing to bear these sometimes harsh conditions are rewarded with one of the most pristine examples of nature in the country.

Whether you’re seeking a wild wilderness adventure or something a bit more civilized, northern Michigan is an excellent ATV destination.

If you own an RV, you will find portable solar panels very useful for long family trips. RVs are great for trips across the country. But most people also want to bring their electrical equipment such as the television, radio, iPod, laptop, Playstation etc with them. When you are on a road, locating an electrical power outlet can be a challenge.

Not all electric equipment is capable of using from solar cells. One of the reasons is the inconsistency power level from movable solar panel.

The power generated from the PV cells will depend on the sun. Some equipment has a power source tolerance level while others don’t.

For example, a heater in an RV can be connected to the solar power system. Heaters don’t care how the power looks. It can fluctuate, the voltages and currents can change and there can be ripples galore.

What we want is the end result which is how much heat it can generate. There can be power peaks and dips, but your RV will have heat from the heater eventually.

It is a similar case with fans on an RV. You can operate a fan from a portable solar panel. However, when it is exposed to more sun, the fan will spin faster.

Again, what we want is the end result which is a cool breeze. It doesn’t matter how hard or weak the fan pushes.

A portable solar power system is not totally efficient, but it is a convenient power source for some electrical appliances on RVs. If you need AC power, you may need a large solar array connected to a power inverter.

Not all equipment will work properly. The only way to find out is to hook it up on the system and switch it on.

Will Yap writes about DIY Solar Homes at http://www.diysolarhomes.com If you are wandering how to make your own portable solar panel for your home or RV, be sure to check out the Earth 4 Energy e-book.

The manual will show you step-by-step how to make a solar array with inexpensive parts and components available from a hardware store. For more information, read the Earth4Energy guide review at the web site.

For nature lovers, it doesn’t get much better than taking off in an RV and exploring the countryside. Unfortunately, these large, bulky vehicles require a great deal of energy, even when off the road. We’ve yet to see a practical solar-powered engine on the market, and the few hybrid RVs that have been developed are still in the concept stage. There are, however, a number of solar power kits that can be applied to recreational vehicles, decreasing or eliminating the need for pricey electrical hook-ups at camping sites. There are a number of things to consider when planning to install such a system.

The first thing to do when deciding on the right solar kit is to gather some information. The amount of roof space available on which to mount a solar array. Next, it should be approximated how much direct sunlight will be available on average, both during driving and while parked in the Sun. Lastly, it should be determined how much electricity is being used in camp, and how many appliances are desirable to power at any one time.

With these facts in mind, it becomes possible to make a fair decision regarding the necessary amount of solar panels with which to create an array, what type of photovoltaic panels to use, and how much battery storage will be needed. There are three kinds of panels commonly available on the market. The cheapest is made from amorphous silicone. It is, however, the least efficient at converting light into electricity. The next step up is polycrystalline silicone, being more expensive but more efficient. The slightly more expensive monocrystalline cells are the best, having the highest available efficiency. The one problem with monocrystalline cells is that they’re not cut into square wafer-like pieces, and so cannot be packed together as neatly as the other cell materials. Monocrystalline is the best choice if there is sufficient roof space available. It may be wise to consult a professional when making this determination, and definitely when ready to install.

In some cases, when there isn’t space to install a large enough array, it may be necessary to employ a gas-powered generator to supplement power generation when the solar system is overtaxed. Otherwise, it will still be necessary to find camping sites with electrical hook-ups. Once again, as with any complex installation, a professional should always be consulted.

As energy prices rise, so do camping fees with electrical hook-ups. Eliminating these expenses can go far in offsetting the cost of gasoline, and in quelling the unrest that can come with the enormous carbon footprint of an RV.

Edmund E. Taylor has researched and writes on a number of topics including solar energy, the green movement, renewable resources and recycling. His background is in teaching and higher education.

At the very edge of northern California lies a collection of America’s volcanic history. Just 20 or 30 miles south of the Oregon border, the Lava Beds National Monument is an amazing destination that provides some of the most beautiful natural features tucked away in a remote environment. Many people head up each and every year to experience a wilderness adventure in a hiker’s paradise.

Lodging in the area is rather limited. Within the park, there are approximately 40 first come first serve campsites. Although some RVs can be accommodated, larger vehicles may experience problems navigating some of the narrow roads within the camping areas. No hookups, showers, or laundry are available on site. There is a restroom and water on site. If you’re looking for more amenities, the EaglesNest RV Park is just 25 miles away from the park’s south entrance. The park features pull-through sites, electricity, utility hookups, and Wi-Fi access. Once you decide where to stay, you must decide what you want to do. There are two main attractions at the Lava Beds National Monument.

One of the biggest draws to the area is the natural features carved out of the landscape by the nearby Mountain Lake volcano. The entire park is a geology and biology buff’s dream. Over 25 lava tubes that wind through the park are fully accessible on foot and are fascinating. Many of these tubes have become home to a diverse ecosystem that includes a number of ferns, fungus, and other plant life. Expect to see plenty of bats while you’re exploring this massive network of caverns and caves. Visitors can also view a number of cinder cones, fumaroles, and lava flows. There’s even a small lookout station that has been build atop one of the major cinder cones. Evidence of volcanic activity is scattered all throughout the park and has created some very interesting natural features.

Another attraction at the park is the large Native American cave artwork and petroglyphs. Although some have begun to fade extensively, there are still many vivid examples of the Modoc tribes that used to inhabit the area. In the late 1800s, the U.S. Army was called in to rid the area of the Modoc and return them to their allotted reservation. A battle ensued in which the Modoc hid in the network of lava tubes, ambushing the Army soldiers and not facing a single casualty. Eventually, the Modoc were forced to flee the area.

Visitors should be prepared for a wilderness experience rich in hiking and history. Lava Beds National Monument is definitely a great destination for those looking for a volcanic adventure.

If you yearn to travel the open road in comfort, and you don’t want to spend your retirement savings to do it, this is the time for you. Never in recent memory has there been a better selection of used class-C RVs at better prices – if you know where to look.

The biggest problem with using the local papers and classified ads as your main sources of information is that you have to wait for the right coach to be advertised. And who knows when that will be? If you have your finances worked out and are ready to make the purchase, it’s frustrating to wait for weeks to find the best deal. You may even end up settling for something, or spending more than you want just to be done.

Suppose you could draw from a huge pool of records of used Class C RVs in a various levels of upkeep at low prices and from lots of different regions? You might stand quite a better chance of finding an RV that you’d be happy with. There are such lists. They’re compiled by sites that track government auctions on the web. The websites permit you to search anywhere you want and give you access to RVs from any number of different agencies, including governments of all levels, Sheriff’s and Marhall’s services, and more.

What makes these auctions so different? Generally these campers and RVs are repos and seizures, and are sold to avoid the expenses of warehousing inventory, rather than to make profit. Other sellers, whether an owner or a dealership, will want the best price they can get for the RV. You are likely to pay more than you really need to.

Many of the auctions are public, and information about the locations is available. You could phone savings and loans, or search the newspapers. Sometimes you’ll find announcements on your local Craigslist. But you’ll have to be zealous because the notices are fleeting. And you’ll have to be thorough because the RV you dream of might be on auction two towns away. And you can easily miss the announcement.

That’s what makes the websites so valuable. They gather all the information from across the country and deliver it to you for a fee that pales in comparison to the thousands you can save off the price of the recreational vehicle.

Now you know what you need to do. So go get the used Class C RV you’ve always wanted!

If you are in the market for an RV, there has never been a better time to buy. However, you may want to stay away from used RV sales found at dealers. Why? Because you may not be getting the best price or the best used RV. The RV’s that are sold at dealers usually have a big markup. The dealers have been hit in this recession just like everyone else. In order to recoup their losses, they are selling off their used RV’s, but you’ll pay a dear price for them.

Is There a Better Way to Buy a Great RV Cheap?

There certainly is. Used RV’s can be found through a number of sources, such as:

1. Classified Ads: You’ll find many people are selling their RV’s in the local paper or on Craigslist. You may be able to snag a terrific deal. However, you really must use extra caution when you buy from someone you don’t know. Obviously, they are selling the RV for a reason, and sometimes, you won’t get the honest truth.

2. Online Auction Sites: Sites like EBay have many RV’s for sale. You may find a great deal here, as well. In most cases, you will not be able to see the RV before you place a bid, so in essence, you’re bidding blindly. If the seller has no feedback, you may be setting yourself up to buy a lemon.

3. Government Auctions: This is where the real deals are. Not only can you find great used RV sales, but you can see each unit before you place a bit. While the RV is sold as is in most cases, the federal, state, and local governments will usually list everything that may be wrong. There are thousands of government auctions each month and you simply have to know where to find them.

How to Find a Government RV Auction

Most government auctions are not advertised very much. However, you can find websites that are specifically designed to help you locate the items you are looking for. These websites may charge a small fee for membership; however, you’ll find listings for all the auctions in your area. This is a fantastic way to find great used RV sales for much less than you might think.

If you could be an avid RV’er called by the open road, but you don’t like how wide the new RVs make you open your wallet, you may be considering RVs for sale by owner. That can be disillusioning for a lot of reasons, not the least being the uncertainty of buying from someone you don’t know.

When buying from a private party, you can never be truly sure of the condition of the vehicle. And even if the seller is being completely honest about the shape the RV is in, he still is motivated to bargain for the highest possible price. There is good news, though. There are other options available.

For the price-conscious buyer, auctions provide a less well-known but more profitable way to buy an RV than buying RVs for sale by owner.

Why are auctions such a good deal?

When a family encounters a financial emergency, the luxury items are the first to go. The financial institutions that reclaim RVs often want to convert their assets into cash to reinvest. They also want to avoid the exorbitant cost of storing repossessed vehicles. Actions are a common way for the institutions to liquidate inventory they don’t want to hold.

Auctions are often less visible than sales in classic advertisements like the classifieds or Craigslist. Therefore, many buyers are unaware of the incredible deals that are available. Fewer buyers often mean fewer competitors which can translate into lower prices.

For the buyer, this provides an opportunity to acquire a quality trailer or motor home at a fraction of the market value.

How to take advantage of these deals

Before looking at RV’s for sale by owner, find out what auctionsare available. There are websites with staffs that research auctions from a large variety of sources around the country and even in foreign countries. RVs are sold by federal, state, and municipal governments as well as Sheriffs and Marshall’s Offices, and lending organizations. You’ll find dozens and sometimes even hundreds of auctions being held in your region.

A small membership fee to one of these auction websites can make you part of a little-known group that save thousands over RVs for sale by owner.
