Cars require regular maintenance and repairs. A mechanic does the physical work on the vehicle, but the service manager ensures that the dealerships service department is well run and managed. Automotive service manger training requires years. The manager needs skills gleaned from work experience, education, vocational training, and certifications in the automotive field.

Service managers are usually employed at a car dealership or a vehicle service operation. Budgeting is one of the chief responsibilities of the manager. They are charged with creating the operating budget, but also making sure the department stays within the budget parameters. They have to make sure costs remain within their projected expectations. They also have to set the goals in regards to profits. Quality assurance and the high ethical standards of the operation also fall under their purview. The manager is in charge of hiring and supervising employees, especially mechanics and technicians. It’s important that the manager make sure all employees are up to date in their training and applicable skills. This insures that customers are receiving the best service possible. They oversee everything that happens in the service department of a car dealership.

Both the service manager and general manager strive for the highest CSI or the Customer Satisfaction Index. Good customer satisfaction is the hallmark of a service department. These skills are an essential part of a managers training.

An ever-increasing number of people who are involved in an automotive service manger training process have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from a college or university. Suggested concentrations are in computers, automotive technology, electronics, mathematics, and business. Training can be done at a technical college, community college, or through a certification program.

There are a large number of academies and vocational schools that offer certifications in automotive service, many of which can be an asset to a service manager. Dealerships appreciate varying amounts of education, training, and experience when choosing a manager. Education and experience are equally important in a manager’s training and preparation.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence offers several professional certifications that boost an applicant’s qualifications. A well-qualified manager should have these certifications. Many service managers already have ASE Service Consultant certification prior to beginning their automotive service manger training. Having such a certification shows a solid understanding of how to perform vehicle repair and maintenance.

Technical knowledge is essential to the manager’s role in regards to quality assurance. They must know how the work is best performed and problems diagnosed, in order to be able to review and evaluate the work of technicians and mechanics. Ten to fifteen years of experience in the field of automotive technology and mechanics prior to becoming a service manager is an industry expectation.

Automotive service manger training takes years of acquiring skills and knowledge. It takes the right blend of education, vocational training, experience, and certifications to make a service manager. All is required is an affinity for automotive technology and hard work to aspire to the career.

My name is Vinny and I’m a car nut. There, I’ve said it! Now you know. I’m hopelessly hooked and it is definitely incurable. I’ve been told that by some very reliable members of my family (my wife specifically).

So you may be saying, “Ok, what’s this got to do with saving money on classified ads?” Well, here it is. I really love all kinds of cars – classics & streetrods in particular and some of the newer ones too. So in my spare time, I’m always looking at classified magazines and websites just checking things out to see all the beautiful cars I can’t afford.

I just can’t believe how crazy expensive these ads have become. Have you seen them lately? In a popular magazine, you start out with, well, let’s call it a basic price ad. Then the choices start. Do you want a bigger photo? Do you want it in color? Do you want a headline? Do you want it bold? Do you want to go broke even before you sell your vehicle? I’m not kidding – this ad can cost over $270 – for a single month! You can just feel your money flying out of your wallet.

Some of the online sites are just as bad. You’ll be enticed by a free ad and then BAM! Do you want to upgrade? Do you want to automatically re-list? Do you want to – well you get the picture. Here we go again so hold onto your wallet. Stop this insanity!

There’s a simpler and far less expensive way to advertise.

First, let’s talk about private advertisers like you and I. If you are an occasional advertiser, maybe a couple of times a year, grab a free ad that will give you 100 words and 3 pictures per ad. Never any additional fees or upgrades. So far so good, right?

Keep reading because this gets even better.

If you’re the kind of guy (or gal) who works on cars and you’re buying and selling all the time, then it’s important to find a POP – that’s Pay One Price type of classified where you can advertise for an extended period of time all for the one low price. You probably think you read that wrong. So here it is again – Pay One Price for an ENTIRE year! No upgrades and no additional fees! Oh yeah, how about being able to include video too. Now we’re talkin’. But is there a classified site that will save you all kinds of money and at the same time offer all kinds of benefits?

There is but you have to do your homework.

How about all the commercial advertisers out there- dealers, part suppliers, service providers, rest shops etc. You can run ads too on a POP classified site and realize amazing savings and benefits. What about upgrades and additional fees? Nada! Nothing!

This is how to save over 80% on classified ads. If you belong to a car club and want to help fellow members save a ton of money this is the way to go. Maybe you have an automotive related site and would like to show your customers or subscribers to your newsletter how to save a bundle on advertising.

The place to go is a POP classified site. There’s not many out there but if you look hard enough in this article, I know you’ll find one.

Hey, maybe if we all save enough, we can get that beautiful ‘57 Chevy – or whatever your favorite might be. Hope to see you there.

This may be old news to some of you but the automotive industry is not what it used to be. The days of car manufactures making new cars, slapping an expensive price tag on them and then watching happy go lucky customers drive off the lot in large numbers has passed long ago. With the economy being in the worst shape that it has been in in a very long time, people just don’t have money to waist on vehicles the way that they did once upon a time.

In recent months thing have began to stabilize a little more than the last twelve months. In what was being called the automotive crisis many people lost jobs as almost no cars were being sold. Household names Like GM, Ford, and Chrysler all looked to the government for help. A big reason that the crisis took place was because the automotive industry was weakened by a substantial increase in the prices of automotive fuels. With virtually no fuel efficient models to offer consumers the “Big three” of the American automotive industry watched their sales quickly decrease.

While car companies from other parts of the world had been focusing on making cars targeted at fuel efficiency for many years, most American automobile manufacturers were way behind and therefore suffered the largest loss in sales during the global financial downturn. Hope full the mistakes made by these companies served as a lesson in economic to these companies. Sadly, from the looks of the cars that they are still producing they haven’t.

I am a college student who loves writing and cars. My favorite car accessory would have to be my 26 inch Rims If you are interested in car accessories or learning about it, here’s a great site for you. http://26inchrims.org

C.R.M is the short for Customer Relationship Management it is a software that posses the quintessential capabilities for an automotive dealership to maintain a good relationship with their existing or new customers. In a nut shell the CRM is designed to sort, filter, and management customer’s information in an effective way. It has some eerie resemblance to a well known software everyone uses on a daily basis called “Micro Soft Outlook”.

There are some key differences between a CRM and a DMS, don’t get caught up in the big words. A DMS system or Dealer Management Software should have a build in CRM capabilities, and in addition some functionalities a CRM can not offer. But today we are going to focus solely on the CRM aspect of the technology.

When choosing a CRM service provider, the customer should be aware of few key issues. Such as the creation date of the software, database scheme of the CRM used, and of course the cost of the software. There are few big name providers in the automotive industry each with their own version of a CRM program. It is surprising with the amount of subscription fee dealers pay to them, the software is still stuck in the 80s, using “flat file” system for their database, and poorly designed interfaces for the users. The cost of a CRM software can range from 2000-3000 per month, with setup installation fees up towards 10,000, all the way to 0 installation fee, and monthly cost of $300. One tell tale sign of an aged software is its “interactivity”, on mouse over a button, or on click event, and easily tell you if the software is more than 10 years old in age.

Many automotive CRM providers today refuse to upgrade their system, due to lack of programming staff and IT support on site, these companies are literally stuck in the 1980s. With today’s growing demand for interactivity, such as web integration, real time database modifications, paying a hefty bill does not necessarily mean you got the best product out there.

Automotive oil filters are not supposed to be put on with wrenches. They should only ever be put on hand-tightened or you may never get them off again. The bad thing is that sometimes the oil filter put on at the factory feels like it’s been put on with an impact wrench. And, sometimes no matter how hard you try, you just cannot get that old filter off with your hands.

Here are a few tips to help ease your frustration and keep you from damaging your car in the process.

1. Get a good quality adjustable oil filter wrench – this one will solve 90% of all problems getting your old oil filter off. Be sure to look for one that is adjustable in diameter so it will fit your oil filter, and will actually be able to fit into the spot you need to get your filter out of. The bad news is that there are still going to be times when you won’t be able to get the filter off even with the filter wrench.
2. The old long screwdriver trick – this one’s been around for ages. If you don’t have an oil filter wrench, or you wrench just keeps slipping around the filter but not actually loosening it, you still have hope. You have to be careful here not to do damage to your car, but if you’re careful, it can work out great. What you need is a long screwdriver and a small hammer. The steel shaft of the screwdriver needs to be long enough to go completely through one side of the oil filter and out the other. If it’s not long enough, you’ll end up in trouble. What you do is put the tip of the screwdriver in the middle of one side of the oil filter, and tap the end with a small hammer until the screwdriver pierces the skin of the filter. Be sure to do this towards the end of the filter away from where it attaches to the engine, otherwise you risk damaging the nipple that the filter threads to. You’re going to get a good bit of oil draining out when you pierce the skin. Just sit back and let it drain. It’s much easier if you don’t have oil dripping all over you. Once the oil has drained, continue tapping on the screwdriver until the top pierces through the other side of the filter. You should now have a screwdriver all the way through the filter. Now, just use the handle of the screwdriver to twist the filter out.
3. One last tip, when you put the new filter on, be sure to rub a small amount of oil on the new seal, and only tighten it with your hands. Spin it on the nipple until it stops spinning freely, and then turn it another 1/4 to 1/2 turn by hand until it’s tight. That’ll make it much easier to get off next time.

If you’re into do-it-yourself automotive repair, chances are you could use a low profile jack. Jaime Smith runs a site that helps you understand their benefits, features, and pricing at http://www.lowprofilejackhq.com

There’s no experience quite comparable to the experience of being at the helm of a delightfully diminutive car that has all the power and thrust that you’d expect from a much bigger model. There’s a tendency towards the wimpy from some compact car manufacturers, but you’ll be pleased to know that SEAT leave their competitors in the dust.

With a wealth of models to choose from the SEAT stable offers an embarrassment of riches that will satisfy even the most finicky motorist. From the lovable León to the irrepressible Ibiza, the SEAT badge graces only the most praiseworthy cars.

If you’re looking for a supermini that will eat up the miles and cut a dash in any environs, the SEAT León is definitely a little car with a big heart. You’ll be surprised at just how much power lies beneath the bonnet of a León, but not as baffled as you’ll be by the incredibly economical running costs!

Available with a range of engine options to suit any driving need, the León shines as an inner city car, so even heading to Galpharm on a match day won’t mean that you’re stuck when it comes to finding a parking space. Even the most meagre gaps offer no problem for the lithe little SEAT.

Unlike most small cars, there’s a punchy piece of kit lurking at the heart of the SEAT León, meaning that you won’t find motorway journeys to be an uphill struggle. If you’re on the hunt for a compact vehicle that holds its own against the big boys but without spending a fortune, a used SEAT León will give you impressive savings without any compromise on quality. As a veritable giant among the puny offerings from other manufacturers, the SEAT León will put the pep back into your journeys.

Not many people actually use their 4×4 vehicles for the tasks with which they are commonly associated. You probably wouldn’t suspect the hordes of mums outside the school gates to go fording on a weekend, and it’s unlikely that the driver pushing their way into traffic has ever even been near a field. It’s a sad waste, and ultimately leads to the stereotype that is so damaging to the SUV model; that of suburbanites who want to hog the road with impunity.

There’s nothing worse than being on a single track lane and coming across a shiny 4×4 travelling in the opposite direction. Because you know that Mr or Mrs Shiny isn’t going to risk getting their precious status symbol dirty by mounting any available grass verge. Why, the very thought! Who cares if they’re in a vehicle specifically built with off-road rambling in mind and there are no safe passing places in sight? If you’re in anything smaller than their car, well then bad luck because you’re going to have to try and get out of the way whilst they barge past.

We’re not all like that, I promise! In fact anyone crossing my path in a shiny 4×4 is probably going to gape with astonishment as I happily let my car climb the verge without a second thought. Because I too drive a 4×4, only mine is only shiny for a short while after I’ve washed it, and then it’s back to getting grubby by actually doing what 4×4 cars were made to do.

My car is a Land Rover Discovery, and discovering is mainly what it’s best at! I’ve discovered that nothing much stands in the way of a determined Land Rover, and that even fearsome looking inclines become subdued under the wheels of the Discovery. When I stated my intention to purchase a used Land Rover my friends clearly thought that they were in for a prissy lecture on how we would be avoiding rough roads, so I think I might have surprised them by heading for the first muddy field before the ink on my signature was even dry!

If you’re tempted by a used Land Rover, I implore you to listen to your car and use it in the way that it wants to be used. Even if it’s just a short romp over rutted roads, your vehicle will thank you for it.

The Jeep Cherokee is an absolute beast of a car, and there’s no doubting that it presents an impressive presence on the road. Whether you want to go on off-road adventures or just to the local shops for a pint of milk, the Jeep Cherokee will give you a commanding presence and a feeling of absolute satisfaction that can’t be beaten.

But it’s not all fun and games. Whilst it would be lovely to spend all day humping up hills and dancing in and out of dykes, there’s the world of work to consider. So what will you do when it comes to meandering down the motorway on your way to earn your daily crust? Hop into the Cherokee, of course!

What, you thought that you’d have to have two vehicles in order to get the best of both worlds? A Jeep Cherokee may be big, but that doesn’t mean that it’s in any way bad. It’s a versatile testament to the American appetite for a car that can cross the boundaries and perform equally well whether it’s tackling tough terrain or cutting a dash in the urban jungle.

If you’ve always fancied getting out and about but don’t want to lose your independence in a vehicle that can’t cut the mustard when it comes to more mundane travel, a Jeep Cherokee will satisfy your need for a car that’s a veritable chameleon. Regardless of whether you’re a city slicker or lucky enough to live out in the sticks, the Cherokee is a choice that will reward you with impeccable performance and enjoyable journeys. With a pedigree that strives for excellence and a history synonymous with impeccable performance, any Jeep model will serve you with utmost diligence and drive. An eager little powerhouse that has plenty of tricks up its sleeve, the Jeep Cherokee could be the ideal choice for your needs!

Honda have come a long way over the years. From boxy, perfunctory designs that were made to suit the purpose of getting from A to B, we’re now being treated with delightfully curvaceous models that have plenty of pep and still provide maximum motoring enjoyment.

If you’ve ever gaped at the clunky, angular shape of an older Accord model you might think that it’s impossible for Honda to be cool, that there’s no way anyone under the age of fifty is going to get behind the wheel of a Honda car no matter how amazing the engineering.

Think again, because the new generation of cars from the Japanese powerhouse are as funky as they are fabulous. Anyone turning their nose up at a Honda offering is suddenly going to find that their world is topsy turvy, because owning a Honda is now definitely a mark of whether you’re cool enough to recognise how brilliant this brand is.

The Honda Jazz is the model that epitomises Honda’s rise through the ranks of style to come out as top dog in the fashion stakes. Whether you’re a city dweller or a frequent motorway traveller, the little Jazz is positively delightful. With punchy performance and more clout than you would expect from such a dinky model, you’ll find that you don’t want your journey to end when you’re in a Jazz!

Certainly there are plenty of models to choose from in the supermini market, but the Honda Jazz beats the competitors hands down if you’re looking for a compact car that offers economical performance without any decrease in power. If you’re looking for excellence in a small package, the Jazz certainly conforms to Honda’s impeccable pedigree for unsurpassed excellence and reliability. It’s never too late to change your mind, and if you’ve always thought of Honda as the preserve of stuffy old duffers then a jaunt in the Jazz will show you that times have changed.

L Riley finds the Honda Jazz to be a very funky little car indeed

Everyone knows the contribution of agriculture and the role of industrial tires is very vital in the field. The use of such rubber implements are a necessity as there are needed machinery to produce crops and yields for food supplies. Heavy equipment is very important especially in agricultural aspects and for heavy equipment which work in our everyday lives.

The farm tractor is one of those heavy machinery using industrial tires. These are heavy duty rubber stuffs especially built for longer wear and tear. They have deeper treads, thick rubber and powerful rim guard protection. These are made to sustain the daily hazards of the field to work effectively and efficiently.

Most industrial tires manufacturers have been in the business for several scores and their name in the industry is still keeping a good name. They are responsible for the production of the best quality rubber wheels being used since time immemorial. The modern innovations are even much better that those of the previous generations with the introduction of modern technology for these things to persevere.

Not all farm or field terrains are created equal and so are these tires to fit to the environmental condition when already in use. There are several designs of industrial tires which can be used depending on the needs of the users. The front and back wheels may be using different sizes and designs so these loads are also considered. The strength of the rubber is well-considered for perfect functioning particularly on different terrains of the field or farm.

You can check on the internet for more details and information on the appropriate rubber wheels that you need for your particular purpose. There are certain manufacturers with websites that can fully address your specific concerns. You may browse and check on their products and inquire from some trained representatives regarding your needed industrial tires.

It may seem peculiar to know about Industrial Tires as you do not get to use them on regular roads while traveling. But this is indeed familiar to farmers and other industrial organizations as they need these tires to run heavy machinery. You definitely need a very durable quality of tire.
