So what do you suppose most commonly gets auctioned off at police auctions? If you guessed “police cars”, you are partially correct. However, these auctions are not limited to police cars. The largest group of cars being sold are actually police seizures. This means you will be bidding on the same makes and models of cars you see regularly on the streets everyday. Police auctions have become increasingly popular since state and federal laws were enacted that allowed law enforcement to take over vehicles that were either used in crimes or purchased with money that derived from a crime.

In layman’s terms, this means that mostly likely a drug dealer or gangster who uses a car to deliver drugs or stolen goods, can have that car taken away by the authorities if it is proven that the car was used directly in the convict’s crimes. When that occurs, it is more than likely that the care will end up at a police auction. The police department gives the automobile to the highest bidder and the money goes to the government. The great part of this for you is that the authorities are ready and willing to get these vehicles off their hands. They are not concerned with squeezing every penny out of buyers because these cars need to go and they are selling them in much greater numbers than a seller who is selling their only car.

In addition, big city police departments with the greatest number of seized vehicles to get rid of will hold police auctions on a regular basis. Smaller agencies will only have them once in a while. In certain cases, small departments will group their vehicles together and have one giant police auction.

There are many places where you can buy a used car from; a private seller, a used car dealer or at a car auction. And there are several different car auction places; government auctions, eBay Motor auctions and other auction sites. When buying a used car at an auction there are several things you need to be aware of to ensure that you get what you need at a price you can afford. Firstly you need to work out exactly what you do need. It is easy to get carried away when you go to an auction and see the huge variety of cars available. Having a checklist of requirements will ensure that you actually buy the type of car you set out to buy. So before you go list all the things you want in your car. You may want a station wagon or a Ute if you intend to carry a lot of equipment around. If you want to tow a van or boat, you’ll need a car capable of towing that load. Or you may want a small run-about to use as a second car. Whatever you want, you also want it to be in good condition with low mileage on the clock if possible. You don’t want to pay a larger price than necessary for your car, but at a car auction you may get carried away by the excitement of bidding. If you are like this, then take someone with you who has a cool head ‘ and whom you will listen to when they tell you’ve reached your set limit.

This is the best place that you can go to purchase a car and get a great bargain. With going to the salvage auction you save more money than actually buying a new car from an auto dealer and there are many ways that you can actually achieve this. This is also where the car dealer buys their car at low prices and then raises the price to get profit. The dealer may have a little more advantage than you when buying a car at an auction seeing as he might know the auctioneers. Also the fact that they are buying more vehicles than you are. The good thing about this is that the dealers tend to go for the newer car which works out in your favor.

All you need to do is to bid on and purchase an older vehicle. The older vehicle may need a little fixing so the best thing to do is to bring your mechanic with you. Your mechanic can tell you what are the things that you’re going to have to get for the vehicle and how much it’s going to cost. This will help you when the bidding comes and you already know the vehicles that you are willing to bid on and plus there will not be much competition because the car is older and not the brand new car everyone is looking for. The only thing with going to an auction is that you will have to have the money already with you to pay for the vehicle and you might not get the deals that would be available to you the dealers but still would have saved money with the purchase. This will all work out in your benefit if you locate the auction and plan everything ahead of time.

Seized vehicle auctions are the ideal means of getting the car of your dreams at really low prices. Seized vehicle auctions are the type of car sale wherein the cars being sold are those that were repossessed. There would be no need for you to worry about the legalities of this type of trade.

It has been a common practice of the government to hold a public auction for all sorts of property that have been repossessed. Among these properties are cars, homes, and even airplanes and yachts that were taken back, impounded, or confiscated mostly due to failure on the part of the owners to pay for them. It costs a lot of money for the government just to store and keep those things maintained. Therefore, they prefer to get rid of those properties as soon as possible to cut back on their costs and they do so through seized vehicle auctions.

As there are all sorts of cars and other transport that the government confiscates, it primarily means that there will also be a lot of models or type to choose from. Whether it is sports or luxury cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, boats, motorcycles, or even airplanes, you name it, they most probably have it.

In most of these events, the starting bids are surprisingly low. They can go for as low as ninety percent less than its actual market value so more often than not, your bid will not actually be such of a huge amount. Moreover, a lot of the vehicles being sold are anything but rusty and old. Several of the vehicles, if not most, are in very good condition and have excellent mileage.

You will still need to be very careful before you make a purchase though, since the vehicles are usually sold as is. Therefore, you would still have to make sure that you conduct a general checkup before you buy. If you are not too good at inspecting or checking vehicles, you might want to bring along a trusted mechanic to perform the inspection for you. That way, you can avoid having to spend more than you bargained for. Yet by far, the best way to get your dream car is through seized vehicle auctions.

Ever hear of cheap seized SUV auctions? If you have not, then you must know that these are the places to get the best deals if you are shopping for vehicles in general. You are already aware that these sorts of vehicles cost more than regular cars because of the extended features they carry, such as construction for ruggedness as well as four-wheel drive capabilities. What you probably do not know, however, is that these places start their bidding at only ten percent the real market value.

That is exactly why they are called cheap seized SUV auctions because they have either been repossessed from people who have not paid their taxes for long or accosted from some sort of criminal activity. Since government agencies have to dispose of these because of space limitations and they are virtually useless in terms of profit, cheap seized SUV auctions are done for resale to the public.

Since it also costs the government a certain amount of upkeep to maintain the vehicles so they do not depreciate that much, they would rather recover some of the costs used to acquire the units, which is why cheap seized SUV auctions and the like are avenues for this to happen.

Do not expect the units to be brand new, but what you may select may be just as good since there is a good chance that there are vehicles aged just one or two years old. Although as-is-where-is, it is seldom that people do a lot of damages in such short a span. With the added possibility of taking it home for a fraction of the cost, this is truly the best option you can have when shopping for a secondhand vehicle.

It is not perfect though since a disadvantage is that what you buy here carries no warranty. You will also be browsing and testing a number of units out before making your choice and bidding for it, so it will be time consuming and requires a bit of patience. But with all costs considered, it is still not a bad deal and can actually be a fun experience. If you do decide to participate on online auction sites, then the only disadvantage is that you cannot thoroughly check the unit personally.

To be able to engage in an auction, you need a valid driver’s license so that means you have to be 18 years old at least. It is strongly advised that you bring a skilled mechanic with you or a friend who is knowledgeable enough in automobile engines when you go to these cheap seized SUV auctions to save you a lot of expense when weeding out the good ones from the bad.

Have you heard about repossessed vehicle auctions? If you have but are not familiar with them, then you should know that this is one of the best places to shop for secondhand vehicles, if you are looking for them.

At repossessed vehicle auctions, you can have a good chance of getting a fairly new car at a discounted price, sometimes maybe even just a year or two old. If you fancy an SUV, you will be able to get one here at a fraction of the cost you will pay in the regular market.

Here are but a few things to consider before going out and prowling repossessed vehicle auctions.

1. Not all of the vehicles you find here are the same no matter how they look on the outside, or in comparison to being the same year and make.
2. The condition of the sale in an auction like this is as-is, so it is recommended you bring a mechanic with you when you are thoroughly interested in a unit.
3. Secondhand vehicles carry no warranties, unlike new ones. The price differential is big enough to be of savings to you and an advantage over purchasing one off the assembly line.
4. Weigh the possibilities of spending for repairs before you finalize a sale. It can work both to your advantage and disadvantage summing up if it will get you the general total cheaper or figuring out to spend a little more for a fixed up one.
5. Although rare, there are chances of the vehicles being sabotaged. The mere fact they are called repossessed vehicle auctions mean that they have been accosted from a previous owner due to a default in amortization payments. Some people may feel vindictive and do unseen damages to the car. It just pays to be a bit more thorough and selective when checking. History of the previous owner and maintenance done would be nice, if possible.
6. Be sure to read the fine print in the contract where terms and conditions apply. Some auction sites may place hidden fees and certain other costs that may not be mentioned upfront. Cases wherein insurance or warranties that have elapsed and compounded based when the car was impounded may be carried upon to the new owner.

These are just a few things to consider when you go out and shop in places like these. It would also be good if you can do a little research beforehand about the particular makes and models that you may be interested in. You may even want to bid online and save yourself the trip, but inspecting them personally is highly recommended. Check out sources on the internet for information on repossessed vehicle auctions and get the venue and time so you can plan out your adventure well.

If you have not checked it out yet, SUV deals at auctions are a great place to find your dream vehicle. You have a better chance of finding a vehicle in a newer state than at usual resellers – probably only a year or two old. If you think that tops it, you will probably freak out knowing that the bidding may start as low as $100.

You may wonder how SUV deals at auctions like these are possible. The reason why the government can afford to sell them cheap is because it actually costs them more to keep and maintain them. The units are mostly acquired by repossessing them from people who do not remit taxes, default from loan payments, and cases of fraud. Sometimes, they are taken from some illegal activity taken – usually from drug trafficking or smuggling. An auction like this is a centralized collection of vehicles coming from various law enforcement agencies, such as the DEA, police, FBI, and in some cases, the IRS.

If you are a practical kind of person, you would not mind shopping for SUV deals at auctions. If you even think about it, you are probably even getting a better deal. The moment you buy a brand new vehicle and leave the showroom, it automatically depreciates by at least 20%, while purchasing a second one levels off at the price you already got it. This is, of course, in exception to getting it from an auction. Prices here may be very cheap, and the only drawback is that you do not have a warranty with it. That is why it is recommended that you bring along a mechanic when you decide on a certain vehicle. Since the conditions of the sale are as-is, you cannot go back to them complaining about something it incurs afterward.

Before going for SUV deals at auctions, it is best to get your budget straight first. Although you do start the bid low, sometimes people get carried away and end up throwing in a bit more than what they set out to do. A vehicle in better condition will always be fought over, but do not worry because there are a lot out there and you will get the right one for your needs.

You can find information on this on internet as well. Try to find auction sites near your area and get the time and venue of when these will happen. You can, of course, participate in the online process and save yourself the trip over, but as previously stated, it is much better if you can check the unit out personally.

SUV deals at auctions can be a fun and pleasant experience and by having the patience and the time set aside, you can achieve that accomplishment when you land yourself a steal.

The biggest problem with using the local papers and classified ads as your main sources of information is that you have to wait for the right coach to be advertised. And who knows when that will be? If you have your finances worked out and are ready to make the purchase, it’s frustrating to wait for weeks to find the best deal. You may even end up settling for something, or spending more than you want just to be done.

Suppose you could draw from a huge pool of records of used Class C RVs in a various levels of upkeep at low prices and from lots of different regions? You might stand quite a better chance of finding an RV that you’d be happy with. There are such lists. They’re compiled by sites that track government auctions on the web. The websites permit you to search anywhere you want and give you access to RVs from any number of different agencies, including governments of all levels, Sheriff’s and Marhall’s services, and more.

What makes these auctions so different? Generally these campers and RVs are repos and seizures, and are sold to avoid the expenses of warehousing inventory, rather than to make profit. Other sellers, whether an owner or a dealership, will want the best price they can get for the RV. You are likely to pay more than you really need to.

Many of the auctions are public, and information about the locations is available. You could phone savings and loans, or search the newspapers. Sometimes you’ll find announcements on your local Craigslist. But you’ll have to be zealous because the notices are fleeting. And you’ll have to be thorough because the RV you dream of might be on auction two towns away. And you can easily miss the announcement.

That’s what makes the websites so valuable. They gather all the information from across the country and deliver it to you for a fee that pales in comparison to the thousands you can save off the price of the recreational vehicle.

Now you know what you need to do. So go get the used Class C RV you’ve always wanted!

If you could be an avid RV’er called by the open road, but you don’t like how wide the new RVs make you open your wallet, you may be considering RVs for sale by owner. That can be disillusioning for a lot of reasons, not the least being the uncertainty of buying from someone you don’t know.

When buying from a private party, you can never be truly sure of the condition of the vehicle. And even if the seller is being completely honest about the shape the RV is in, he still is motivated to bargain for the highest possible price. There is good news, though. There are other options available.

For the price-conscious buyer, auctions provide a less well-known but more profitable way to buy an RV than buying RVs for sale by owner.

Why are auctions such a good deal?

When a family encounters a financial emergency, the luxury items are the first to go. The financial institutions that reclaim RVs often want to convert their assets into cash to reinvest. They also want to avoid the exorbitant cost of storing repossessed vehicles. Actions are a common way for the institutions to liquidate inventory they don’t want to hold.

Auctions are often less visible than sales in classic advertisements like the classifieds or Craigslist. Therefore, many buyers are unaware of the incredible deals that are available. Fewer buyers often mean fewer competitors which can translate into lower prices.

For the buyer, this provides an opportunity to acquire a quality trailer or motor home at a fraction of the market value.

How to take advantage of these deals

Before looking at RV’s for sale by owner, find out what auctionsare available. There are websites with staffs that research auctions from a large variety of sources around the country and even in foreign countries. RVs are sold by federal, state, and municipal governments as well as Sheriffs and Marshall’s Offices, and lending organizations. You’ll find dozens and sometimes even hundreds of auctions being held in your region.

A small membership fee to one of these auction websites can make you part of a little-known group that save thousands over RVs for sale by owner.
