In times of a recession the increased demand for used cars, that are reliable efficient and are great value for money is now higher than ever. People want to cut down on spending and reducing car costs is an amazing start.

Buying a used car can be a blessing or a nightmare depending on how much time effort and research you put into it. It can also be a very tedious and time consuming process if not done correctly. You can be on an endless search looking for the car of your dreams but all you come across is dodgy sales men and banged up cars.

The questions is how do you avoid all of that how do you cut down the process and sort the bad from the good. That is the multi-million pound/dollar question.

Here are my 3 quick and easy car buying tips.

1.) If you are buying a used car from a private seller make sure that you ask as many questions as possible. If the seller begins to falter, stutter or get aggressive in anyway shape or form the reality is it is most probably a very bad buy and by getting this guy uptight then you have most probably saved yourself hundreds even thousands of pounds.

2.) Make sure every car you check goes through a Hpi check, now this may seem like a very long process but the reality is this can save you hundreds even thousands of pounds, eliminate the risk of your car being confiscated by police or retained by bailiffs.

3.) Under no circumstances what so ever. Do not be eager. An eager purchase is in no way shape or form an intelligent purchase and through the joy and excitement of car buying the seller may take advantage of you. You may also miss some things that are critical eg damages.

The dangers of buying a used car, now there are several dangers in buying a used car. Some are minor and some are absolutely major my advice is to stay clear of any danger when buying a used car despite how good the deal sounds.

The worst thing to do when buying a used car is make a purchase where in around 2/3 months you are at the garage getting this fixed and that fixed. Steering clear of that is absolutely vital. Before you start looking for your new used car it is an essential factor that you set a budget. Stick to that budget this will help you to negotiate a better deal.
