A few years back I always thought it would be nice to have a place somewhere close to the lake but a cottage was out of the question. To purchase land anywhere on the water would cost more than I will ever have so it seemed like the dream was just that, a dream.

Looking for alternative idea’s I started to look in to Rving. It seemed to be quite popular, much less investment than a cottage and great family fun.

As a child I always loved to go camping, of coarse back then we were just in tents. It just so happened I caught wind of a Camping RV Show coming to our town and I thought maybe I’ll check this out.

The Camping and RV Show was fun and very informative. I really was amazed on how “close to home” these campers and 5th wheels were. There were lots of beds, a kitchen, bathroom with shower and much more.

An RV was actually a small cottage on wheels and the prices were right as well. My wife and I talked it over and both agreed it would be nice to have a little “getaway” for us and the kids to enjoy.

The next summer we purchased our very own 32 Foot RV and decided to but a seasonal lot at an area campground. Looking back I thing that was one of the greatest moves I ever made. After 3 years of RVing we are still loving it. We’ve kind of made the campground our second home where it is full of nice people, lots of activities and peace and quite.

You don’t have to be any kind of expert to get started in the RV world, just be willing to have some fun. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, there is something for everyone.

Our Campground is very close to Lake Huron, has 3 pools, horseshoes and a full activity schedule for the children every day!

When you break down the cost of staying seasonal it works out to less than $25.00 per day. You can not stay at a hotel that cheap.

RVing can be a great family experience and if you haven’t tried it I suggest you do. There are many Campgrounds that have rental trailers right in the park (before you buy you own) giving you a little taste of how much fun you can have.

There are lots of great resources on-line for RVing and also RV Shows going on throughout the season.

Enjoy, and have a great summer
