New Car Dealers – You Have a Future in Buy Here Pay Here, Part 2 – Location
If you’ve read my first article for New Car Dealers and Buy Here Pay Here, then you understand the idea of treating BHPH as a separate franchise, so I will assume that you are interested in learning more. This is my 2nd article in the series for new car dealers. Now let’s talk about some suggestions on where to locate your new BHPH franchise.
My first suggestion always is to put your BHPH location away from your new store completely. It prevents confusion for your people and customers.
To begin with, understand that you need to physically separate your inventory from your normal used car operation. The customers you will have, always want the best vehicle for their money. So, if the retail used car inventory is parked in the same row as your BHPH, they will want those vehicles and not the ones they can afford in your program. It is better not to set their standards too high to start with. This also helps your salespeople stay in the BHPH mental state with your customers. Read more
How to Avoid Becoming Involved in a Car Accident
Accidents are an unfortunate part of owning and driving a car. You do not need to be a helpless victim! There are a number of safe driving habits you can practice every day to keep yourself and your passengers safe on the road.
1. Keep Your Eyes on the Road. It is tempting to watch the scenery passing you while driving, but safety should be your first priority. By watching the road in front of you and what is happening behind you through the rear view mirror, you will always be prepared.
2. Leave Yourself an Out. Place your vehicle where your safety is not determined by other drivers. Do not let yourself be boxed in by other cars, instead leave yourself a place to swerve if it becomes necessary.
3. Be Especially Cautious When Driving During Twilight. The time directly before sunset offers the most opportunity for a crash. It is difficult to see what is happening around you and other drivers are probably tired from a long day at work. Make sure your lights are on and always use your turn signals.
4. Your Reactions Are Slower When You Are Tired. Your vision and reaction time are distorted when you are tired, making it easier for you to cause or be part of a crash. If you feel tired, try getting out of the car and walking around for a few minutes. The best option when you are tired is to pull over and find a place to rest. Coffee, soda and other caffeinated options are no replacement for rest. Read more

When and How to Buy Aftermarket Truck Parts
A truck is primarily meant for loading, unloading, and rough long distance drives. It is categorized under heavy automobiles categories, which is why driving a truck is a lot different than driving just another automobile. Essentially a commercial vehicle, there are people who do drive a truck for the mere fascination for its grand size. It is essentially used for loading and transport of heavy stuff over a long or short stretch. However, since most trucks have an open load bed, they can also be used as passenger carriers. Across the world, the basic anatomy of a truck is the same. Some common truck parts are a chassis, a cab, an area for placing cargo or equipment, axles, suspension and road wheels, an engine, a drive train, pneumatic, hydraulic water and electrical systems.
If you want to make your trucks more efficient and faster, but cannot afford it, that’s where aftermarket truck parts play the vital role. Aftermarket parts are those parts that are made by a company other than the original manufacturer or OEM, of the automobile. You can also use aftermarket parts, if you want to do certain modifications in your truck. Another main advantage of using these parts apart from affordability is that you can install them with minimum knowledge about the automobile, instead of the original ones, which require professional installation.
Before ordering an aftermarket truck part, be certain that it matches your vehicle’s model or the manufacturing year. Also, you need to check your manufacturer’s warranty before making aftermarket changes as your truck may void its warranty, if mentioned anywhere. Read more

Auto Theft and “Sideshows” Endanger Oakland Drivers and Residents
Reckless driving has taken hold of Oakland car culture, causing the streets to be quite dangerous. Oakland car collision lawyers can tell you that auto accidents happen every day on the city’s congested streets. In 2008 there were 32 fatal car-related accidents and nearly one hundred people involved. In fifteen of these fatal car crashes, drunk driving played a role.
Though California has done a lot over the years to lower the number of people drinking and driving, it is still an issue. Further, “sideshows” — showy, reckless driving including lines of cars weaving in and out of lanes, riding on top of vehicles, and driving at very high speeds — have become popular in recent years and put all Oakland residents at risk for personal injury.
With the turn of the new year, Oakland saw two tragic car accidents due to reckless behavior. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, one accident involved three young men in a white Jeep who hit a blue Acura transporting a family of three. The Jeep was seen swerving dangerously before the impact and witnesses described the driving as “sideshow-type activity.” All six passengers from both vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. A liquor bottle was found in the Jeep after the crash, suggesting that the driver was intoxicated. Read more

Does Using Cruise Control Really Save Gas?
Ironically, modern cruise control (also known as a speedostat) was invented in 1945 by Mechanical engineer Ralph Teetor, a blind inventor.
