These days, with the economy in shambles more and more people are looking for ways to save money on car maintenance. One of the best ways that you can save money is to spend just a little bit. Repair bills are very expensive even for minor repairs as many mechanic shops charge over $50 an hour for labor. Some car dealerships charge as much is $200 an hour for repair labor. Here’s a few tips that you can use to save money on your car maintenance.

1) Oil Change Intervals. If you have a newer car you may be surprised that in your owner’s manual it may only recommend that you change the oil in your car every 4500 or 7500 miles. Newer vehicles that have engines that are designed and built with more precise specifications do not have as much internal friction. Therefore, many newer vehicles do not require that their oil be changed every 3000 miles as was the norm in later models. You can save money on oil changes. Simply consult your owner’s manual for this information.

2) Lucas Fuel Treatment. One of the best products that I have ever used his Lucas fuel treatment. This is labeled as an upper cylinder lubricants and has saved me from having to buy new fuel injectors as well as, extended the engine life of several vehicles that I have owned. While it is controversial with some people as to whether or not fuel additives work, this one additive that lubricates the entire fuel system as well as the upper fuel chambers in the engine is one of the best products that I have ever used and would recommend to anyone. This can save you money significantly as the cost of replacing fuel injectors and related parts can be very costly.

3) Inexpensive Extended Auto Warranties. You can obtain an inexpensive car warranty on the car that you currently own for a fraction of the cost of buying it through a car dealership, by buying direct.

Compare Extended Warranty Quotes based on your vehicles year and model and get quotes from multiple companies. You can save so much money buying direct vs buying through a dealership at http://www.CarWarrantyDeals.Net/

Great American humorist, Kin Hubbard once said, “The safest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it in your pocket.” But when RV living is your way of life, saving every penny may not be as easy as you might expect. The following RV tips are sure to help you save, and even earn, money while enjoying the RV way of life.

Ways to save money

1. Get more bank for your tank. Enjoy better gas mileage by practicing these simple driving tips:

Slow down – The faster you drive, the lower your fuel economy will be
Inflate – Proper tire inflation is a sure way to improve your gas mileage
Lighten your load – Eliminating excess RV weight increases your fuel efficiency
2. Stop and shop. Forget about stocking up on everything you need for your entire trip by buying in bulk beforehand. Instead, shop often and locally. You’ll not only reduce the weight of your RV and get better fuel economy, but also save money by skipping the national chains and shopping for produce, meat, dairy and other items at local discount and dollar stores.
3. Eating in is in. Skip the restaurants and eat in. Your meals not only will be more affordable, but also they will be healthier than those bought at the fast food restaurants and old-fashioned diners along the highway.

4. Go green. Use plastic, not paper. Although paper products are easy to use, and even easier to throw away, why not go green while on the road? While the initial investment of purchasing a set of washable and reusable dishes may cost more upfront, not having to continually purchase paper plates, cups and utensils will save in the long run.

5. Try “boondocking.” According to Jack and Julee Meltzer, authors of The Smart RVers Guide to Saving Money: Have More Fun RVing For Less Money, boondocking, or “dry-camping,” usually entails staying somewhere that offers no hook-ups (water and sewer) at little or no cost. Whether it’s a parking lot or in the desert on public land, some RVers only boondock. Most RVers, however, stay at a campground every few days in order to empty their tanks, do laundry and fill up on fresh water.

6. Make house calls. If boondocking isn’t your style, why not turn your RV road trip into an opportunity to visit with family and friends? Be sure to be respectful and always ask before showing up; however, most close friends and family would be delighted for an impromptu visit that doesn’t involve clean sheets and extra towels. Parking your RV in the driveway shouldn’t be a problem; just make sure to ask if there are any city ordinances requiring parking permits in the neighborhood.

7. Join the club. RV membership clubs like The Good Sam Club, KOA, Passport America, Camp Club USA, Happy Camper and Escapees offer a wide range of benefits to their members, including substantial discounts on campground fees. Do your research before embarking on your journey to see what deals and discounts you can find for the road.

8. Get online. RV forums can be found on numerous websites. And while you’re surfing, try finding online coupons, codes and discounts for all of your other necessary RV purchases.

9. Save money on storage by selling your stuff. Save that monthly storage unit fee and make some money at the same time. Before embarking on your road trip, hold a sale and eliminate all of your unused belongings, then donate whatever is left to the local Goodwill or Salvation Army. In addition to a little extra income, you’ll receive a deduction on your taxes.

10. Investigate your policies. Research your insurance policies to ensure you are getting what you need at a price you can afford. Whether you’re looking at your RV insurance options or trying to find discount RV insurance coverage for your vehicle, sometimes changing your provider or premiums can save you money.

The RV lifestyle is one of the most affordable ways to travel and experience all that the country has to offer. Utilize these helpful tips for RVing on a budget, and make every dollar stretch for miles.

If you’re in the market to purchase a new RV, now is an excellent time. There are many special offers and incentives aimed at getting you into an RV. Maybe you’re a seasoned veteran, an occasional renter, or a first timer just diving right in head first. No matter what your experience, there are a number of things you should keep in mind before heading out to the dealership.

You should always determine the needs of you and your family first. Purchasing a vehicle that just isn’t big enough for your expanding family is the biggest mistake RV buyers typically fall victim to. Keep in mind that you’re going to be spending a majority of your time in the RV while driving and camping. Just because there are enough beds in to accommodate every member of your family doesn’t mean that there’s enough space to be able to live comfortably. It is very beneficial to tour the interior of the RV and examine it thoroughly. If there are any retractable portions, make sure they are fully popped out so you get a real feel of the space. Imagine cooking and eating a meal with your family on board and see if it feels comfortable and natural. If you are feeling a little crammed, chances are your family will as well. Lack of space causes a lot of unnecessary tension that can make an RV vacation take a turn for the worst.

Make sure you get thorough details on the construction of the RV. Many cheaper models are cheap for a reason. They are built using inexpensive materials and construction methods. Most of the time, these vehicles are more difficult to maintain and may have a much shorter service life. You’re buying an RV because you expect to get years and years of memories out on the road. Investing in a high quality vehicle will ensure a better experience when you’re traveling. If you don’t intend to keep the RV for the rest of your life, you have to consider the best option for resale. Cheaper models tend to be harder to sell once they age. Large RV and bus chassis models tend to fare much better on the private market and appeal to a larger variety of potential buyers.

An RV is a huge investment and you should be prepared to take your time during the purchase process. Reevaluate your budget and needs as needed to ensure that your family gets years of enjoyment out of your new RV.

An ATV, by simple definition, is a four wheeled all terrain vehicle, which is ridden off road, and is ridden just like a motorcycle. It has the ability to ride through, sand, dirt, and rocks, when there are no roads. ATV’s were first used in agriculture, due to its ability to go through rough terrain. These days ATV’s are also used in outdoor recreational activities, and as a vehicle in extreme sports; used in racing and aerial tricks and maneuvers. Regular ATV’s come in a variety of colors, styles, types (utility and sport), 2×4 wheel drive and 4×4 wheel drive, and engine sizes ranging from 250 cc to 450 cc. The more extreme ATV’s are available from 500 cc to a whopping 700 cc, and are additionally equipped with sports shocks, sports tires, and various engine augmentations and modifications, which make these extreme vehicles go extremely fast, leap extreme heights, and are equipped with shock absorbers that can withstand impacts a regular ATV would not be able to withstand.

Mini Quad ATV’s, on the other hand, are much smaller ATV’s, which were designed specifically for the use and enjoyment of children. ATV’s with an engine size of 50 cc are recommended for children 6 to 12 years of age. ATV’s with an engine size of 90 cc are recommended for children and teenagers 12 to 16 years of age, and ATV’s with an engine size of 90 cc and above is recommended for teenagers 16 years of age and above. These ATV’s are equipped with additional safety features, such as remote controlled speed regulators and emergency kill switches, and are equipped with the regular safety features of regular ATV’s like brakes, rear and head lamps, and signal lights. For additional safety, it is recommended to make kids, or any person, wear safety gear for added protection. Mini Quad ATV’s were designed specifically for the outdoor enjoyment and recreation of children, which should be under the watchful eye, at all times, of adults.

Car driving in the city could turn out to be more stressful than it already is. Just imagine the number of times you are stuck on the city roads, waiting for the traffic jam up ahead to clear up. Think of the number of times you had to honk your horn so as to stop the careless pedestrians running to cross the street. To top it all, there is the lingering threat of your car being stolen, and that is troublesome for you at all times.

To turn a nasty drive in the city streets into something enjoyable, you need to do to things: buy a car that is meant for the perfect city drives, and secondly, pay attention while you are on the road.

• Get a car that fits. You will often find out that parking in the city roads is a menace. You might never find enough amount of space so that you will have to park your car about a mile away from the place where you want to go. Plus, if you get a car that is too big, there might be a few problems which you might encounter while making your turn. There is a huge chance of denting your car easily as well. If you get a small size car, you will be able to avoid all these troubles.

• You may get manual-transmission cars, since they are fun to ride and very fuel efficient, but when you are drive them at stop and go traffic, you will be easily stressed out.

• Always remember that city drivers get the worst fuel mileages. So while buying a car, combine the cost of fuel with the manufacturer’s lowest mpg numbers. This will give you an idea of what to expect at the gas station.

• It is necessary to make the car crime resistant. Get your car the anti-theft protection like the car alarm, wheel lock and the disable switch. Plus, never leave any valuables, say your gym bag or shopping bags visible inside the car. If possible, always stow away your valuables into the trunk of the car before you park it. Always make sure that you park your car right at the busy roads where there are many pedestrians around.

• Generally, local residents know which roads one must avoid, but if you are new to the city, this could become quite a hassle. It always is necessary to find out before you set out in your car whether the roads you will be taking have been jammed up because of construction work. This way you will be able to save a lot of time. If a two lane interstate becomes the eight lane expressways, it is better that you take one of the lanes in the right and stop to read up the signs. If you find that your exit is here and yet you are in the wrong lane, do not panic and turn around ten and there. You have to be patient. You need to let it go. Then take the next exit, and wind around the city streets to be where you want to reach. Always carry a map with you in the car.

These tips will enable you to drive safely in the city streets without encountering any problems. You will never be held up for reckless driving, and you will hopefully never have to visit the hospital as well.

Have you ever read Archie’s comics? If you have, you must remember Archie’s car which seems to be nothing but a spluttering junk that spits and back fires all the time! And to think the amount of trouble it gives to Archie- he cannot even take Veronica to a date on his car! Do you want your car to be such a worked up junk that people could laugh at whenever you are in the street? Does you cart look like something that you will want to be caught dead in? If that is the case, it is time to give your car a good wash so as to bring back its shine again!

You might laugh when you hear that here are some basic car cleaning tips that many people do not follow. You might think that all you have to do is use the old elbow grease to do the job well. And if you had those expensive car washing tools and chemicals, you will need no tips. But the fact is, you do not even need those expensive products to make your car shine. Anyone, even teenagers can give their car the wash it needs without much hassles. But the fact is, there are some basics that you need to follow immediately.

• Always use two buckets instead of one. Why? One bucket has to be for the soapy formula. But if you are washing a muddy car, the water would soon turn dirty too, and you will immediately need fresh soapy water. This time, the two buckets are necessary. But if you are washing a car which has nothing but a thin film of dirt on it, you can do with only one bucket of soapy water.

• Never wash a car from down up. Always go up down. Wash off the roof first. Scrub it clean with soapy foam and then rinse the soap off. Next go on to the hood and then the trunk lid and rinse them vigorously. The last parts of the car that you should wash are from the top of the windows to the rocker panels. Rinse each side before moving on.

• Always wash your car in the shade. This is not just to keep you from sweating in the heat, but to see that the sun’s direct heat does not dry off the water on the car so as to leave spots on it. You need to chamois on it before that happens.

• For the interior, always get car seat covers. You can always find them at the stores, and in different prints and colors. Not only will they make the inside of your car look bright, but they will make it easier for you to clean up your dirty car. After days of rough usage, only the seat covers will get dirty so that you can take them off and wash them. You can dry them before putting them back on to the seats.

These tips will ensure that your car is cleaned up properly. Not only will these tips make cleaning your car an easy and fun job to do, but they will also have your car shining as good as new in no minute’s time!
