Forget speed cameras, roadworks and traffic jams: blow away the cobwebs with the best British country drives
Stuck in a rut of the daily commute? Leave the hustle and bustle behind and head for the British countryside.
Even in these congested times, the UK has plenty to offer in terms of scenic drives and cracking roads; you just need to know where to find them.

Here we show you the route to happiness with the top ten British country drives…

1. Hebrides

It may take a bit of effort to get there, but the Isle of Skye is an unspoiled haven within the Inner Hebrides. Take the A87 from Portree – it skirts the coastline round the island and turns into the A855. There are numerous single-track roads for the really keen, while the harbour at Portree is perfect for a few snaps. There’ll be something for drivers and sightseers alike.

2. Northumberland

The North East has more than its fair share of rugged coastlines and spectacular scenery. Start at Berwick-upon-Tweed (taking in the view of Lindisfarne) and head south to Alnwick. Pick up the B6431, which turns into the B6432, skirting Northumberland National Park. Stop for a brew at Farlam Hall in Brampton and marvel at the feat that is Hadrian’s Wall.

3. Lake District

The Lake District’s twisty country lanes are a driver’s delight – if you can avoid the peak of summer. The B5289, just outside Cockermouth in Cumbria, loops around Derwentwater to picturesque Keswick. Stretch your legs with a walk through the Lake District National Park, then head south to Hardknott Pass – the steepest road in England. You’ll end up in the Victorian town of Ambleside for a well-deserved cuppa.

4. Peak District

Perfect for a family getaway, Britain’s first national park offers magnificent views of peaks and valleys in almost every direction. To get the most out of them, you can’t do much better than the A57 from Glossop. Wind your way over the Moorland for miles, keeping an eye out for the Ladybower, Howden and Derwent Reservoirs. Finish up at Bakewell for, you’ve guessed it, the essential Bakewell Tart!

5. Isle of Wight

This often-overlooked nugget of seaside delight is only half an hour from the mainland. The Military road runs across the south coast of the island, following the sea cliffs as they look out over the English Channel. Rising and falling, they’re ideal for a slow cruise or an enthusiastic sprint. The road itself was part of the Palmerston Forts, built in the 1860s, in response to the perceived threat of French invasion.

6. Cotswolds

Burford, just 16miles west of Oxford, is one of England’s prettiest medieval towns. The 1000 locals will welcome you as you partake in the delightful high street and quaint shops. From there, pick up the B4425. You’ll enjoy a fabulous fast and flowing open road for almost 15 miles before you reach Cirencester. Unwind and explore the weekday markets and renowned Corinium Museum.

7. Suffolk

Situated in the east of the UK, Suffolk offers some architectural delights, while the rural roads provide some challenging routes once you head off the beaten track. Follow the A12 south out of Ipswich, through the delightful Vale of Denham, before heading to Sudbury and picking up the B1058 towards Castle Hedingham. This, and the subsequent B1053 and B1057, loop around Saffron Walden – explore Audley End, one of the most ostentatious Jacobean houses in England.

8. North Wales

Find yourself in the right part of Wales and you can enjoy some of the best roads the UK has to offer. Start at Bala and take the A42122 through the heart of Snowdonia. Head through Porthmadog and Pwllheli along the south coast of the Lleyn Peninsula, then back up along Caernarfon Bay. If you’re really keen, head north to Anglesey, and try out its race circuit, which looks out over the Irish sea.

9. Dorset

Take pleasure in the stunning views on offer in Dorset. Enjoy the traditional seaside town of Weymouth before following the coastal road up to the A352, visiting the iconic Lulworth Cove. Head into Poole and explore its natural harbour, the second largest in the world, before looping back along the A35 through Tolpuddle to Dorchester – the home of Thomas Hardy and the Dorset County Museum.

10. Cornwall

A part of the UK not to be missed, head south along the coast from Bodmin to Lizard Point, and across to Land’s End. From there, drive north through the popular beaches of St Ives and Newquay. For one final flourish, follow the A30 out of Bodmin again and head over the challenging moor roads, but be prepared for the Brown Willy effect: a localised weather phenomenon that brings heavy rain and flash flooding.

Country roads may take a bit of negotiating. Before you leave the hustle and bustle behind, make sure your
car insurance is up to date and you’re covered for breakdown.
–
Comparing prices over the internet can be bewildering. It is worth researching car insurance quotes on the internet through comparison sites such as http://www.confused.com

What if you took two companies that had contrasting, unique strengths with cars and put them together to build a car emphasizing both of their traits? Well, that’s exactly what happened in the 1970s when BMW and Lamborghini got together to build a legendary car – the BMW M1.

The BMW M1 was a car built in a soap opera environment of sorts. The problem wasn’t BMW, but Lamborghini. BMW had retained the Italian exotic sports car company to design the M1. Alas, Lamborghini was having major financial problems at the time and ended up going bankrupt half way through the project. BMW was thus forced to take the car back and complete the project on its own.

These odd circumstances led to an odd car. The first M1s look more or less exactly like you might think they would if Lamborghini did half the work and then handed the car off to BMW and did not consult on the rest of the project. The car has some of the swooping designs you see with all Lamborghinis, but also some of the typical lines you see in BMW. Put together, the car looks something like…a DeLorean. To some, this is a beautiful design. To others, it is not.

The BMW M1 was sold to the public for only three years – 1978-81. The sales for this period totaled 456 cars, the smallest production line in the history of BMW. Oddly, the base engine was a 6 cylinder, with twin cams and produced a top speed in the 160 miles per hour range. Other BMW models were later given the M1 version, but they were just upgrades of the respective base production cars and not real M1s.

It must be said that the powers at BMW really liked the M1. They actually started a PRO M1 racing series that restricted teams to using just the M1 car. The series became a launching pad for Formula One drivers. The iconic Ferrari driver Niki Lauda won two PRO M1 championships and future F1 Champ Nelson Piquet won one. BMW still supports the series today although M1s long ago were phased out in exchange for 3 series cars.

Why write about a car nearly 30 years old? Well, BMW is considering updating the car and releasing a modern version. It is called the M1 Homage Concept. The car has only been seen once, but it just looks brutally wicked in a good way. The current economic environment has stopped BMW and other companies from pursuing such projects, but expect the car to get some attention when the economic situation improves. I honestly don’t care for the original M1 design, but the Homage Concept looks like an absolutely beautiful and aggressive car design worth every penny of what will certainly be a very high price.

Dirk Gibson writes BMW articles for DCJ Auto Parts – your source for BMW aftermarket parts.

voxclamantisindeserto.wordpress.com

Lemon law rights are framed to protect and guide you in case you happen to be the unlucky owner of a lemon. These rights are applicable not just for automobiles, but for a series of consumer products including puppies. These laws are defined by every state and are also present in the warranty card that you get along with your product. You may have more rights than what the dealer or manufacturer would explain it to you. Prior to 1990, when the lemon laws were not established, you would have to consider yourself unlucky if you happened to buy a defective product. But now lemon laws are completely framed and established in every state, and now no unscrupulous manufacturer or dealer can rob you of your money and time. You can use your lemon law rights to sue them and to claim proper compensation for your product.

To start with, you need to identify whether you have bought a lemon. Lemon law rights apply not only to new cars, but also to old cars and items bought in lease under the warranty period. Different states have different definitions of a lemon, but the main objective in all the states for your product to be accepted as a lemon would be: You have bought a new vehicle and within the warranty period the vehicle has undergone multiple repairs. Even if the manufacturer is not able to cure the problem before the warranty period and is not ready to provide you with a replacement or compensation you have the lemon law rights to protect you. A product is also accepted to be a lemon if it does not perform as it had claimed before you had purchased the product.

The best way to protect you from such lemon products is to have the vehicle properly checked by an expert before purchasing it. Preventing such problems is the best cure, but if you happen to buy a lemon product, most lemon laws ask you to contact the manufacturer and solve the problem with him. If the manufacturer is not able to repair the product or if he is not interested to accept your claim, then you can have your lemon law rights work for you. You can take the case to the court by yourself or you can have an expert attorney represent you. There are many firms providing advocates handling such cases. Many state laws also require the manufacturer to take up the expenses of the attorneys, so it is an economical solution.

Try to know more about your lemon law rights. The more you know, the more safe and confident you would be.

If you find yourself arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) in the State of Arizona, and you have submitted to a breath, blood, or urine test, and the results of the test reveal a blood/breath alcohol result of .08% or higher, or you have refused these tests, you can expect to be involved in two separate legal proceedings.
1. A criminal proceeding in court
2. A civil proceeding with the Department of Motor Vehicles (MVD) and the likely suspension of your driver license.

These two proceedings are mutually exclusive; the outcome of one will not affect the other. You could win both matters or lose both matters. How the MVD driver license hearing is handled is extremely important.

Your DUI arrest begins your criminal proceeding. The consequences of this — plea of guilty, or a verdict of guilty following a jury or bench trial — could result in mandatory jail time, fines, fees and assessments, supervised or unsupervised probation, as well as a criminal record. The civil proceeding is conducted before an administrative hearing officer at the MVD. This proceeding deals with a possible suspension of your driver’s license, or if from out of state, your privilege to drive in Arizona. The arresting police officer will serve you with a “Notice of Suspension.” If you have been arrested in Arizona for DUI and you take a breath, blood or urine test, and the results measured a alcohol concentration of .08% or more within 2 hours of driving, or you refuse to take the blood, breath or other chemical test, the arresting police will serve you with a 90 day driver license suspension notice, or in the case of refusal, a 12 month driver license or driving privilege suspension. The police should give you two copies of this form.

If your test results indicate a result of .08% or higher, the police will seize your Arizona driver license, and issue you a temporary license which is valid for 15 days, or, if you request a hearing within the 15 day window, until the hearing is conducted and the outcome determined. Since the police confiscated your driver license, the yellow copy of the suspension notice is your temporary driver license.

If you are from out of state, the police cannot seize your driver license. They will serve you with a notice of suspension of your privilege to drive in Arizona. The suspension will take effect 15 days after service unless you request a hearing within the 15 days. If a hearing is requested, your privilege to drive in Arizona will not be suspended until the hearing is conducted and the outcome determined.

If you refused to take the breath, blood or urine test, the police will serve you a notice of a 12-month suspension of your driver license, or privilege to drive if you are from out of state. This suspension becomes effective 15 days from the date of service unless you request a hearing. If a hearing is requested your driver license or privilege to drive in Arizona will not be suspended until the hearing is conducted and the outcome determined. If your refused to take a breath, blood or urine test, it is likely that the police obtained a search warrant and obtained your blood anyway. If this is the case, your driver license or privilege to drive will still be suspended for 12 months even though the police obtained your blood through the use of a search warrant.

A request for hearing must be submitted in writing to the MVD. Generally, the pink copy of suspension form, furnished by the police, is used to request this hearing. It is important to fill out the information completely and accurately on the back of the pink form. You must check the box indicating you are requesting an Administrative Hearing and mail it, within 15 days of service to you by the police, to: Arizona Department of Transportation, Executive Hearing Office, Mail Drop 507M, P.O. Box 2100, Phoenix, AZ 85001-2100. Do not select Summary Review; this will not get you a hearing, but merely a review of the paperwork submitted by the police.

In the criminal case, if you plead guilty to the charge of DUI, or if you are found guilty, you will be sentenced in accordance within the present Arizona DUI sentencing guidelines. When the State receives notification of the verdict, your driver license will be suspended for 90 days. However, if you are a first offender, or you have had no DUI convictions within the past five years, and if you took the breath, blood or other required test, and if you have been found guilty in the criminal proceeding, or you feel that such a result is likely, then you may wish to agree to a suspension of your driver license prior to or at the MVD hearing.

Agreeing to the suspension will entitle you to a 60 day restricted driving permit following a 30 day suspension. The suspension is still classified as a 90 day suspension. To obtain the restricted driving permit, you must apply at a local MVD office following the first 30 days of the suspension. Agreeing to the suspension will generally resolve the civil proceeding sooner and oftentimes well before the resolution of your Criminal matter in court. This is advantageous as you get the suspension over with sooner and under less onerous circumstances. Agreeing to the suspension will generally result in no further suspension of your driver license if you later plead or are found guilty of your DUI in court. In the case of a stipulated suspension from MVD, there will be no requirement that you post proof of Financial Responsibility before your Arizona driver license or privilege is reinstated. Agreeing to the suspension will allow you to select the day you want your suspension to begin, so long as the suspension start date is within 45 days of your MVD hearing date. This allows flexibility in arranging transportation to work or school during the initial 30 days of the suspension. NOTE: If you request a hearing and actually go through with it and lose, the only difference is that your will not be able to choose the day the suspension begins. You should still be eligible for the 30 day driver license suspension followed by the 60 day restricted driving permit.
If you agree to the suspension, you do not get a hearing with the administrative law judge. You do not get to challenge the police officers or contest the evidence in the civil hearing. Sometimes this hearing may be important to gather critical evidence in your DUI case. However, this decision should not be made without first discussing your DUI case and individual circumstances with an experienced DUI defense attorney.

If you have the Administrative Hearing and win, and later lose your DUI case, either through a plea or finding of guilty at trial, MVD will suspend your driver license for 90 consecutive days. There is no eligibility for a restricted driving permit following the first 30 days of the suspension. Further, if you are convicted either through a plea or finding of guilty in court you will be required to provide proof of financial responsibility (insurance) for three years by filing with the State of Arizona either a $40,000 cash deposit, or Certificates of Deposit (CD’s) totaling $40,000 or a Certificate of Insurance (SR22). This Financial Responsibility requirement could have significant cost implications for you, depending upon your selection of acceptable Financial Responsibility filings and/or your insurance carrier’s underwriting requirements.

Now a days due to the growth of the Internet industry, it is easier to compare cars before deciding about buying one.

Earlier people used to depend on the recommendations of their friends and relatives for deciding about buying a car. The media industry was also not very developed earlier. The only television channel at that time Doordarshan did not broadcast any program on the auto industry. Newspapers also did not cover information or news about new automobile launches. There was no magazine about the auto industry then. There was no other source of information about new cars. Before 1990 even the auto industry was not well developed and there were few options in the market. This had resulted in no competition in the market. It was bad for automobile buyers as they did not have many choices for buying cars.

After the economic liberalization policy of the early 1990s the auto industry started to grow fast. Various auto companies came to India to launch their products. Now there was much competition in the market. Many new four wheelers were getting launched regularly. All major four wheeler players like Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, General Motors etc are present in the market now. Indian car buyers also have many options if they want to buy new cars. All major car models are available in the Indian car market. Recently the iconic car Volkswagen Beetle was also launched.

The growth of the auto industry has inspired media houses in the country to launch various products related to the industry. Now there are many magazines about the auto industry. National newspapers regularly cover news and events related to the industry. Television channels have also started to cover all kinds of events related to the sector.

Many Internet firms have launched various auto websites covering news and information about the auto industry. These websites also offer the facility to compare various cars and do other research about vehicles before deciding about buying a certain car. This way any user can easily research thoroughly before deciding about the car to buy. Especially the facility to compare cars is very useful for car lovers.

Author provides information about new cars, used car, buy cars and compare cars etc.

Getting through a driver’s test doesn’t have to be a rough experience. Even if you’re nervous, you should still be able to maintain enough calmness to get through it successfully. All you need to do is learn and understand all the rules. After understanding them, you should implement them in your practice so that you can prepare for the big day.

It’s important for you to learn exactly what will be expected of you during the driving test. You can do this by looking online for secrets, many of which are submitted by the DMV examiners themselves. Many of them are very helpful and provide tips online to help out those who want to get their driver’s license. Contrary to what you might think, they really want you to pass, and will even share tips with you to help you out.

Oftentimes, student drivers will let their nerves get in the way and will consequently fail. If you don’t want this to happen to you, you need to prepare yourself as much as possible so that you don’t feel all that nervous. You probably will feel some nervousness, but you can decrease the fear and intimidation by studying, learning, and practicing as much as possible.

Keep in mind that the basic driver’s handbook that you’ve undoubtedly received will only teach you so much. If you really want to pass the test with ease, you need to look at a step-by-step guide that will teach you how to get through the entirety of the exam. There are interactive guides and courses online that will make learning how to drive easy and fun. You can supplement your education with a good online program. This will prepare you for the day so that you’ll be able to keep your nerves at a low.

More than 50% of student drivers fail their first driver’s license test. If you haven’t taken yours yet, you can ensure that you don’t fall into that group who fail by taking an online driving course! If you have taken it and failed already, you need to learn from your mistakes so that you pass with flying colors the next time you take your driving road test!

Nadav Snir is an experienced driver, driving since the age of 15.5. He passed his first driving test in California at the age of 16. You can see more information about the driving test in his guide: http://Great-Info-Products.com/Driving/index.html

Increasing population of vehicles which are high around the world will bring pollutions, higher cost of maintenance and use. Various vehicles, machinery and generators increases daily. Fuel prices increased and continued to burden the consumer, organizations and the government. If fuel consumption rate increased, as well as increasing in Environmental Pollution.

NMR Fuel Saver should be used because it:

1. Reduce maintenance costs.
2. Engines / Vehicles / Machinery more powerful.
3. Engine efficiency can be enhanced.
4. Prolong engine life.
5. Power added 10% to 25%
6. Fuel savings from 10% to 35%
7. Engine more quiet
8. Acceleration force increases
9. Engine more stable
10. Engine easy to start
11. Easier to move additional burden
12. Reduce emissions 50% to 85%
13. Spark plug cleaner and last longer
14. Clean the injection system / carburetor
15. Also clean the components in the combustion chamber
16. Electrical energy supply system more active
17. Small size (Not bulky or very heavy).
18. No modification need to be done to the engine.

Some factors that need to be considered.

Many were asking why they need to install this Fuel Saving Device? Whether due to fuel quality or imperfect vehicle technology? The answer is that are NOT the only factors. Vehicles designed based on research of the material characteristics at the time it was built. Fuel are produced with the best quality. Vehicle maintenance and the usage of good quality spare parts should be taken into account too. Maybe due to these reasons European countries have been using such device on part of their vehicles production.

Local cohesion tendency of gravity (Gravity Density) and weather conditions also play a role. These includes the unstable surrounding electromagnetic waves. Molecular changes due to environment wave and temperature. Chemical bacteria breeding in hydrocarbon can also be blamed. The process to prevent the built-in electrostatic waves in the hydrocarbon is by magnetized it, on the other word to coordinate electrostatic bonds in hydrocarbons. Then it will resolved the hydrocarbon molecules so the coalescence with oxygen can occur more efficiently thus promote better fuel combustion. The method of using magnetic ferrite Class C11A which produce infrared also contribute success for this product

When mentioned what is the value of the magnetic field power (Gauss, Flux, Flex, etc.), it is more geared towards the research which never ends. The hydrocarbons quality often changed, iron quality in engine frequently changes and magnets technology improved from time to time so there is no formula to described. Latest and progressive research can improve quality of life.

Research shows that an auto can be stolen within 20 seconds. Auto theft can occur to anybody. Vehicle thieves are all out both for new and old vehicles including the parts. Though there is no 100% auto theft proof gadget, there are preventive measures that you can learn to lessen the chances of your vehicle being stolen.

When leaving the car take the car keys with you all the time. Never leave them within the auto. Believe it or not almost 20% of cars stolen had keys left inside the vehicles. Always lock the car all the time because unlocked vehicles are usually the easy targets. When parking, it is recommended to park in a well lighted place and if possible near the stores or other business establishments. Do not park in lots that are neglected, particularly in the evening. Learn to park the car with the wheels turned sideways whether it is at the driveway, parking lot or curb. Another is to administer the emergency brake whenever you park. These steps make it difficult for a vehicle to be stolen away by car thieves.

Also take all important things such as cameras, money or video games and others with you when leaving your auto. Avoid leaving any important items visible as temptation. It is also not a good to hide a spare set of keys beneath the car in a magnetic key box, because car thieves can easily locate them. Always close the windows properly and don’t leave any opening. Always keep your auto registration and documents at home to avoid thieves from selling the vehicle easily. You can also etch the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) within the window and other primary parts of the car. This deters auto thieves as it aids the police to track a stolen vehicle faster.

According to government reports, a car is stolen in the United States every 28 seconds. That’s more than 3,000 motor vehicles every 24 hours. To protect your auto plus stay clear of the troubles of dealing with the outcomes of a theft, there are some basic steps that you can take. These range from considering simplistic measures that are free to investing in and using special gear to discourage thieves. Every day, 24 hours, protect plus prevent with these hints:

1. Keep your car door locked at all times. A car can be hijacked in a few seconds from your curbside when you dash back into your garage or when you run into a store for a chewing gum.

2. Take your car keychain with you. Keys left in the ignition or concealed somewhere in the vehicle make it simple for burglars to jump in and scram.

3. Shut the windows. Leaving the windows slightly open does not genuinely cool the auto. However, it does make it easier for the burglars to get inside. Closing your windows will protect plus deter a car thief, who will probably move on to a more vulnerable target.

4. Park in illuminated areas. The majority of car hijackings happen at night. Don’t protect thieves by giving them an additional cover of darkness. Plus, remember you’ll be getting in and out of the vehicle yourself.

5. Stow valuables in glove compartments or the boot. Bags, grocery bags, electronics and almost anything else that is valuable can allure criminals. And while they’re trying to take your valuables, they could possibly take the car, too!

6. It is hazardous to leave the automobile running. In such cases, all that a burglar needs to do is jump in and flee.

7. Park in the garage. If you have a garage, it’s wise to use it. Secured garages and automobile doors are significant hindrances to burglaries.

8. Do not keep a spare key under the car mat. Criminals know where to get it — and they will.

9. Purchase a car alarm. From the types that send a signal to law enforcement bodies to those that are elementary systems that come pre-fitted with the newer cars, buy the best that you can afford.

10. Utilize a steering wheel lock. These are simple hindrances that work if you utilize them. Some web sites, like 24Protect Plus, offer member rebates on anti-theft devices.

11. Be conscious about what is happening around you. This is a smart tip and should be used 24 hours a day to protect yourself plus your auto and can simply be done by observing who is standing around you and lurking nearby.

12. Pay attention. Playing with keys or talking on your blackberry means you are inattentive and are therefore marked as an easier target for burglary.

These are some commonsense hints that can help you in preventing your car from being stolen. Abide by these basics 24/7 to protect your vehicle plus ward off the potential for damage to you and your car.
