The 2010 Volkswagen Jetta has been announced and it will be reality by the end of this year. It will be another compact sedan model that will look bolder, bigger and better than the earlier generation models. The new Jetta comes with more power, thanks to the 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine that can produce 150 hp.
2010 Jetta will be produced mainly for the US market, though this time VW may try to even target the booming Asian market too. The vehicle also offers 1.9 liter TDI diesel engine with direct fuel injection mechanism. The model is also offered with better fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
The new Jetta model comes in three variants and two engines. The vehicle is a competitor to the Honda Civic. The vehicle achieves maximum speed of 187 kilo meters per hour. It comes in two different versions like the Comfortline and Trendline.
The Jetta Trendline comes is offered with the five-speed manual transmission, whereas the Comfortline model comes with the 6-speed automatic transmission. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilo meters per hour in a time span of just 12.2 seconds, while with the diesel engine the same speed can be achieved in a time span of just 11.8 seconds.
The other features of the next generation Jetta include two zone climate controls, cup holders, rain sensors and integrated cargo space. The other safety features in the vehicle include electronic stability system with steering wheel and anti lock braking system. The model comes with built-in anti theft system. It has elegant chrome trim and the sporty radiator grille on the side windows.
