Coaxial Car Speaker System
The most common type of car speakers are called coaxial speakers. Usually most car manufacturers will include at least a pair of coaxial car speakers in their models. Coaxial speakers are available as 2-way-, 3 way and 4-way speakers depending on their configuration or to be more specific the number of tweeters in the system. The most basic version of coaxial speakers, the kind that you would generally find in older cars has mid range cone woofers capable of producing mid range sounds. But the latest versions will also include at least one tweeter for high frequency reproduction. A tweeter is a device that helps your system to reproduce high frequency sounds, minimize sound distortion and gives clearer and more defined sounds. An increase in the number of tweeters will add more details to the sound. So while two way coaxial car speakers have one tweeter, three way speakers would include two tweeters and so on.
