Motorized Scooter – Pick the Best Motorized Scooter For You

If you have been looking at buying a motorized scooter and trying to decide which one would be right for you, then there are two main questions you need to answer:

1. Is it for leisure or for commuting to and from work?

2. How far will you be traveling?

When faced with the many different models of electric scooters, these questions will help you decide which one is right for you. Everything else depends on other factors like your journey and your preferences.

Electric scooters come in two types: Stand up and Sit down.

Average range is about 8 miles but this does depend on the terrain, weight of the passenger, strength of wind etc. Personally I’d go for the 350 watt electric motor scooters or above, as they have more power.

Cheap Motorcycle Helmets

For many individuals, motorcycles are an exciting form of travel and recreation. However, if proper safety measures are not observed, riding a motorcycle can be a dangerous enterprise. Motorcycle fatalities have increased by 127% over the last ten years. Most states have some type of laws governing helmet use when operating a motorcycle. The necessity of these laws is supported by the facts. Studies show that 65% of motorcyclists killed were not wearing a helmet. Since a helmet is an essential part of road safety, and its usage mandated in a growing number of states, it is important for riders to know what to look for when purchasing high-quality, cheap motorcycle helmets.

There are many good, yet reasonably priced motorcycle helmets on the market. If an inexpensive helmet meets certain qualifications, a rider can be assured that it perform best when it is needed most. Most importantly, the helmet must be D.O.T, or Department of Transportation, certified. The Department of Transportation has a very specific set of minimum safety standards that any helmet they certify must meet. Among these, the helmet must provide substantive protection from serious injury. In addition to protection from cataclysmic harm, helmets provide a myriad of benefits that will enhance any rider’s experience. Besides reducing wind noise and protecting the rider from insects, a helmet can actually increase focus while riding.

What is the Basic Helmet Law in My State?

The governing authorities of the United States have always emphasized the need to wear helmets. Even though this is a standing instruction, many people flout it openly as they feel that riding without the helmet is much more stylish than riding with it. Not only does the helmet protect the biker from harsh weather conditions, it can also protect your skull from near-fatal accidents. It’s extremely important to understand why authorities are so strict about helmets, and therefore we need to look at the past and present legislations regarding helmets to understand this better.

Past Laws about Motorbike Helmets

The first law regarding helmets was passed in 1957 with regard to getting funds for construction purposes. Within ten years of the legislation, as many as forty states had already adopted it. By 1975, the law had been adopted by all the states except three. Even though the Helmet Laws have constantly been amended since then, the states still go by the original law and have made riding with helmets a mandatory law.

What is the Scrappage Scheme?

The system enables owners of cars that are 10 or more years old to hand the car over for scrapping to receive a substantial discount off a brand new model. This discount of at least £2,000 is picked up between the car manufacturer and Government.

This has been designed to reduce the number of cars on the road that have high emissions, usually associated with older vehicles, and to give a ’shot in the arm’ for new car sales across the UK that have suffered in the recent financial crisis.

Many would argue that the impact of scrapping a semi-decent car and building a brand new one outweighs the environmental benefit advertised by the scheme.

The scheme is expected to run until October, however the motoring industry has called for this to be extended like it has been in Germany, which has seen a large spike in new car sales due to a similar strategy. The scheme has been linked with an increase in ‘mini car’ sales. The Ford Fiesta, Vauxall Corsa, Mini and Volkswagen Golf were all top-selling cars in June.

Sure, the WRC cars are stripped to the bone and have a lot more grunt, and of course they’re tuned for racing, but beneath all this there’s the chassis of a familiar car you might see driving around your local neighborhood.

So if you’re looking for a car inspired by rallying, it’s worth noting that Japanese brands like Mitsubishi and Subaru produce vehicles which not only offer the driving excitement and toughness of a rally car, but also include all the creature comforts you need to keep everyone in your family safe and comfortable.
